Club History

In September 1951, the community of Indented Head saw the need for community boatsheds and they  formed a committee calling it the Indented Head Boat Club. They wanted to take advantage of good fishing  in the local waters, with easy access to the bay.

The club delivered 26 boat pens with a community hall above. The entire building was built with money raised and lent to the club by members, as well as volunteer labour.

The club has grown and later added the boat ramp and wash down area.

The community hall with its fantastic views is now managed by Bellarine Bayside and is available for hire.

With a back drop from the Indented Boat Head  ramp there lies the wreck of the Ozone paddle steamer. It is still visible and a short swim from the shore and has become a famous land mark of Indented Head.

From a quiet little beachside village during the cooler months of the year, to a bustling little town in the warmer months, Indented Head has become a great holiday destination for families.

Indented Head Boat Club has always been about safe boating, fishing  and families, and prides itself in   bringing people together in a community environment with activities such as Fishing Competitions, Fishing and Boating Expo and regular get-togethers with boating runs to Portsea, Sorrento and Corio Bay.

So from all of us at Indented Head Boat Club we offer happy boating and fishing.
